3D and Photo Printer

A guide for using Squires 3D printer

ideaMaker

To import a model after opening the ideaMaker software, press the "+" icon to import an .STL, .OBJ, or .3MF file.

Note: be sure to choose which nozzle you would like to print from, as well as the color of filament being used (see example below).

To add supports to your model, click on the "Support" icon.

From there, you may choose your support settings, but if you would like to use auto-generated supports, click on the "Create Auto Supports" icon.

To begin slicing, click the "Start Slicing" icon.

The "Select Template" screen should pop up after clicking the above icon.

From there, choose your print speed and then click the "Slice" icon.

To upload the now sliced model to the printer, click the "Upload to Printer" icon.

Now that you have sent your model to the printer, you are now ready to start the printing process. Before starting the print, however, be sure to smear on a layer of glue onto the build plate using a gluestick to keep your print in place while it finishes the printing process. On the touchscreen of the printer itself, click on the "Print" icon in the lower righthand corner. From there, click on "Local Storage."

In the "Local Storage" tab, select the model you would like to print and click on the "Print" icon.

Once the print has begun, it may take a few minutes for the nozzle(s) and build plate to warm up. The touchscreen on the printer, should look like this, however:

Here, the machine will tell you how much time is left before the print is finished.
