Advanced difficulty sonata for piano by the 20th-century Czech composer Leos Janacek. Written to memorialize a worker slain during a protest (on Oct. 1, 1905-hence the title), this sonata is the remaining 2 movements ("Foreboding" and "Death") from what was originally a 3-movement piece, the "Funeral March" having been destroyed by Janacek himself.
